Westwood Exhibition

The Westwood Competition is a semiannual juried art competition which takes place in September and February of each year. The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue. Artworks are judged by Westwood staff and residents, and accepted works are exhibited at Westwood, the residence of Purdue University’s president. Works selected in September will be on display October - March; works selected in February will be on display March - October. Westwood is a private residence and is not open to the public, but private viewings are available, and Westwood hosts a reception for the accepted artists and their friends and family each semester. Students who are interested in having their art or design work considered for the next exhibition at Westwood should drop off work at the Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries during the designated dates.

Spring/Summer 2013

ENTRY:  February 4 - 6
JURY: February 7
NOTIFICATION/PICK-UP: February 8

Fall/Winter 2012

ENTRY:  September 17 – 19
JURY: September 20
NOTIFICATION/PICK-UP: September 21
RETURN SELECTED WORKS: October 3

Students may enter up to 4 works. Entries in all media will be considered. Works must be titled and sales prices are encouraged. Works need not be matted or framed for entry, but accepted works must be made exhibition-ready by October 3. To enter, bring your work to the Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries on September 16 - 19. Entry forms will be available on site.

Fall/Winter 2011

The Fall/Winter 2011 Westwood Competition ended in May 2012. Work should have been picked up from Westwood or the Rueff Galleries in May. If you have not yet claimed your work, please contact the Rueff Galleries to arrange pick up. Please note that storage is limited and at times inadequate for work that has not been picked up by designated times; to ensure proper care of your work, drop off and pick up your work during the scheduled times.
