Research

ResearchThe research focus of the Center is to investigate the relationship among physical activity and nutrition, physical, and psychological health.  Further, we develop models to improve exercise and eating habits throughout the lifespan, with an emphasis on basic gerontological research and the development of applications for older adult populations. While the individual faculty members have varied research interests it is the purpose of the Center to facilitate research that focuses on the effects of acute and chronic exercise on middle-aged and older adults. The Center encourages and fosters inter-displinary research efforts between departments as well as universities that investigate new and exciting realms of clinical, applied and basic exercise science.
