Pat Rochon has experience in front of the camera and behind it; but she prefers (by a wide margin) producing and teaching. She produced two news shows on Boston’s WNAC-TV (now WNEV) and she won two regional Emmys. She produced and hosted a talk show on Public Television in New Orleans. As a teacher, she worked with students at Xavier University, Dillard University and Penn State University before coming to Purdue. Here, she created the courses in which students develop the weekly newsmagazine, Fast Track. The show provides a place for students to showcase their knowledge of journalism and visual storytelling, but even more importantly, it inspires them to experiment with the boundaries of their own talent and to produce work that is comparable to that seen in some of our most prestigious television markets.
| Scott Schroeder Director, Communication Technology Center B.S., Indiana State University, 1992. Scott's primary interests are in television production and technology, specifically in the area of documentary and educational video production. Before coming to Purdue, he gained extensive experience in producing, directing, and editing many types of video including documentary, educational, corporate, public affairs, sports, and commercials in both the field and studio. Many of his videos have gained local and national recognition including three Indiana Cable Television Awards, two local Addy Awards and a national Videographer Award. At Purdue, Scott has developed courses that expand the minds of his students through hands-on community service learning projects. The students get a chance to develop communication skills on a variety of levels as they work with real clients to produce real video projects to better our local community. |
